Richard Burbidge Flooring Accessories

Fibreboard Underlay - to give greater cushioning and levelling when laying your floor, simply place the fibreboard squares onto the damp proof polythene membrane. These woodfibre panels also provide excellent sound proofing qualities to the finished flooring.

Coloured Adhesive - There are coloured adhesives to match the Burbidge flooring in beech, oak, maple and cherry. This special PVA glue can compensate for minor inaccuracies during installation. (why not ask for matching adhesive when you order your flooring).

Colour matched skirtings - Skirting board profiles - plain and patterned - finished to match beech, oak, maple and cherry - these skirtings are used to disguise expansion gaps beautifully.

Coloured sealants - A range of coloured water-based acrylic fillers/sealants available in beech, oak, maple and cherry, specially formulated for use on laminate flooring. Ideal for filling gaps around fireplaces or pipes and its pliable nature allows the flooring to expand and contract as required.

Co-ordinated coverstrips - Burbidge have four profiles of coverstrip to co-ordinate with their skirtings and flooring.( These are used to cover the expansion gaps if you decide not to remove your skirting boards). Available in beech, oak, maple and cherry effects, the profiles include a scotia, quadrant, flat bead and an angle, in addition, there is a white scotia to match white skirtings, and a plain pine flat bead for you to stain to match other flooring finishes.

Flooring adhesive remover - gets rid of glue smears and spills once dry, without reducing the water resistance of the glue.

Skirting board adhesive - The ideal solution to fitting skirting boards and coverstrips to walls to conceal expansion gaps without the need for nails or screws.

Pipe covers - To disguise the gaps in your flooring around radiator pipes, simply snap them apart, place around the pipe, click into place. Made to take 15mm diameter piping and available in beech effect, oak effect and white.

Door thresholds - Three profiles, one for flooring to carpet, a floor to floor and a zig zag adjustable style for different depths of floor coverings. The adjustable threshold is also available in 2.4 metre lengths for use on double doors. Available in three finishes, matt gold, beech effect and oak effect.

Active fibre mop - How do you clean a laminate floor without wetting it - use a dry active fibre mop. Made from special fibres, the Richard Burbidge active fibre mop attracts dirt and dust, when it's dirty simply throw it in the washing machine.

Colourfill repair kits - provides a permanent waterproof repair - should the worst happen.

NuWood The solid wood substitute for precious hardwoods.

NuWood timber begins as radiata pine grown in managed plantations. The pine is then given the properties of a premium hardwood species using NuWoods unique technology. The NuWood process, developed by the New Zealand Forest Research Institute, involves impregnating each cell with a "cellulose-type" solution derived from products such as tapioca, barley and wheat.

The wood is kilned, impregnated and re-kilned - a process known as "pouring wood into wood".

The end result is a material that is 70% radiata and 30% cellulose which, in terms of performance characteristics, strength and resilience is a match for hardwood.

The timber is also through stained during the process to resemble a wide range of hardwood species.

Available in 19mm and 10mm thickness.

As easy to lay as any hardwood floor, as durable as any premium hardwood but it's not a hardwood. It's a hard, solid wood.
